We’re excited to announce expanded language support, making Pet Pet Generator accessible to even more users worldwide!

What’s New

  • 🌍 Russian Locale (/ru/) — Complete translation of all public pages:

  • 🌏 Traditional Chinese Locale (/zh-hant/) — Full 繁體中文 support:

  • 🌐 Four-Language Support — The app now fully supports:

    • 🇺🇸 English — Default language
    • 🇨🇳 中文 — Chinese (Simplified)
    • 🇷🇺 Русский — Russian
    • 🌐 繁體中文 — Traditional Chinese

Implementation Details

Both locales follow the same architecture as our existing Chinese support:

  1. Added locale codes to i18n.locales in Astro config
  2. Created translation files in src/locales/{locale}/
  3. Updated language switcher with new language options
  4. Added automatic fallback to English for missing translations
  5. All pages are pre-generated with proper hreflang tags

Translation Conventions

  • Russian — Preserves brand names and product terms, uses natural Russian phrasing, maintains kawaii/sakura aesthetic
  • Traditional Chinese — Uses proper 繁體字符, adapts phrasing for Traditional Chinese regions, maintains UI consistency
